Media Playlab International Network is pleased to invite you to to the New Media in Education Fiesta (NMiEF) 2010, an international event supported by Media Development Authority.
NMiEF 2010 is a 3-day fiesta comprising a series of exciting events, namely NMiEF 2010 Spotlight Conference, New Media in Education International Conference on Second Life* and Innova Film Festival. The fiesta will take place on 6 – 8 September 2010.
NMiEF 2010 Spotlight Conference will provide a myriad variety of perspectives into the critical role of New Media in education through the addresses and keynote speeches by various partners in education. Ms Erin Reilly, Research Director (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism) will present the keynote speech in Second Life to international audiences as well as real world participants.
Participants will also witness the launch of YouthchaNgE 3.0, a network that aims to engage and connect youths for social action and community involvement through new media projects and platforms. The event will be held on 6 September 2010 (Mon) SGT 0930hr at National University of Singapore, Shaw Foundation Alumni House, Auditorium.
New Media in Education International Conference on Second Life allows participants to attend sharing sessions on new media-related innovative and effective pedagogical practices in the comfort of their own homes. Participants can also look forward to networking with local and international educators during this conference within the immersive virtual environment. This event will be held on 7 – 8 September 2010 at the Centre of Excellence for New Media, Second Life Educators’ Campus.
Innova Film Festival features students’ film productions as well as one award-winning documentary. A producer sharing after the film screening will continue to inspire budding filmmakers as well as provide production tips and anecdotes. The Film Festival will be held on 8 September 2010 (Weds), 1930hrs at Cathay Cineplex Orchard.
